The Mumbai Spirit

People who are from Mumbai take pride in the fact that they are strong enough to take a beating, fall and then stand right back up and move on forgetting or letting go of what hit them.
But is that why we get attacked so many times? Should we be strong enough to not take a beating?

Mumbai is like a young girl, she may be wearing red lipstick and high heels (much to Mr. Maqvi's distaste). She loves life. She has coffee at the Taj, takes the train, has a driver, lives in an orphanage and a bungalow. She watches movies wide-eyed and listens to the Indian flute in tears.
When she is hurt, the people around her pick her up, and support her - giving her strength. Upon seeing a flicker of a smile and hope in her face, they continue on, glad to know that she is unflappable. This is the Mumbai spirit.
